CHP Engineer
Location: Liverpool, North West, UK
Salary: £40,000 – £45,000 basic + Package + OTE up to £75,000

About the Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced CHP (Combined Heat and Power) Engineer to join a leading energy services company operating across London and the South East. The successful candidate will be responsible for the service, maintenance, and fault diagnosis of a wide range of OEM gas and diesel-powered CHP engines.
This is a field-based position working with a diverse portfolio of clients in sectors such as commercial buildings, hospitals, data centres, and industrial sites.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out planned maintenance, diagnostics, and repair of gas and diesel-powered CHP units.
- Respond to breakdowns and ensure minimum downtime for clients.
- Perform engine service & PPMs, component replacements, and control system adjustments where required.
- Work on various OEM systems including (for example) MTU, MAN, Perkins, Cummins, CAT, or similar.
- Record service data accurately and produce detailed engineering reports.
- Liaise with clients to provide technical support and advice on CHP performance and optimisation.
- Adhere to all health, safety, and environmental standards at all times.
Key Skills & Experience
- Proven experience working with CHP systems, gensets, or reciprocating engines (gas and/or diesel).
- Strong fault-finding and electrical/mechanical diagnostic skills.
- Knowledge of control systems, PLCs, and engine management desirable.
- Full UK driving licence (essential).
- NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering preferred.
